County Pot Location

From Ease Gill

County Pot Location[edit | edit source]

The route from Bullpot Farm starts by following the main track up the hill, towards Barbon, passing through a gate after 50m. After about 300m, the track reaches open fell on the right. The path to Easegill veers off to the right about 20m ahead; a trailer is normally parked at this junction. The path crosses a small stream, and ascends over the brow of the hill. The path is often very muddy, but there are stepping stones through most of the wettest parts. The path descends slightly, and crosses a stile over a wall, at the top of a small valley (containing Sylvester Pot), about 500m from the main track. The path then follows the wall, and descends towards Easegill Beck. Shortly above the beck, where the route becomes steep, a fence to the right is crossed. A steep descent then reaches the beck. The entrance is on the left (true right) of the beck, shortly after the descent. The entrance is excavated, and has a steel lid.
